Yesterday I had a thought about upgrading my seats and our mechanic had a set in his barn soooo here’s what happened.
MKII GLI seats have about a 1/2 inch wider track. Someone mentioned beating them with a hammer but I wanted a nicer fit. There is a factory bend in the seats when straightened bring in that 1/2 inch difference. Since the MKII GLI has a lap belt attached to the rear outer of each seat this needs to be removed or it will not fit into the 4K track. Final step is going to be some cleaning and brown fabric dye to complete the look. Seats are an amazing upgrade!
